I Blog Therefore I Am

Here's a change of pace for you fuckers. Some rude visitors woke me up and sent me into insomnia. In my struggle to sleep I find myself with several things that "BOGGLE THE MIND"...

For starters, did it ever occur to anyone that previous civilizations had a greater understanding of the Earth then we do today? They had a level of knowledge and understanding that was not transferred to future generations. Examples? Pyramids of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Stone Henge, and to a lesser degree Atlantis, the sunken city. Even a lilttle more contemporary were Socrates, and Aristotle and such. If I am not mistaken Socrates (or someone of that time, maybe Aristotle....) was able to calculate distance, TO THE INCH, by how big something looked from a distance. He was also able to tell how big said object was, and in many instances how much it weighed to the pound. Ancient civilizations built Pyramids with stones heavier then most buildings today BEFORE the invention of the wheel. Within these massive pyramids there were an array of complex, maze like tunnels that were illuminated (supposedly) by copper plates that reflected light from the tunnel's opening throughout the entire tunnel system. Stone henge only recently was hypothesized to be a burial ground. However, the question of how the huge structures were constructed elludes scholars to this day.

Fast forward to 2009, in an ever more technologically enslaved world, we cannot calculate tip without calculators. We go ape shit crazy if our phones die, with it going our percetion of time being that many Americans (mostly the younger generations) don't wear watches any more. Our concept of intellegence revolves around an Educational system that has proven full of flaws and remains behind that of which the Ancients receiveed. In those civilizations the average age of death was around 30. We've tripled that number and halved the average intelligence of the Human race.

So driven by money, we, the contemporary Human Species, fail to truly acheive our potential. We gauge success in our Yearly Salary and the size of our lawn (personally the lawn comment bears no weight, I am a product of an Urban Environment). We have yet to explain how the Pyramids were built so PERFECTLY so as to mark the cardinal points (North, South, etc) without the use of a compass (created much thereafter).

SO the question remains, how were we able to do those things, and how was that information not passed along the generations? It is said that there was Alien interferance, and although that would be a cute and quick explanation, why would said interferance be so involved then and nothing have happened since then to that capacity? Why have they not come down and built MORE SHIT? Are they still tight about the Roswell crash? Get over it.... But seriously I doubt all this E.T. nonsense....

Fact of the matter is that as a race we have regressed. The Ancients wanted to prove somethign of themselves and have accomplished feats that we have yet to figure out today. In our society we fail to reach heir level of understanding because simply... who gives a fuck? But ultimately we become so entangled in technology and to a greater extent ourselves, that we fail to realize that no one is acheiving in leaving behind a legacy. Look at all the great leaders of our time... Martin Luther King Jr., probably the best at what he did. Anyone else, a leader, a voice of the people... Obama? No, Presidents will never truly be leaders, they get entirely too much funding to be able to stand up for something that may not be in their sponsors interest. Furthermore, the man said he was coming out of Iraq and pulling out of the war and is now sending more troops and wants to secure some other spot and blah blah.... BS Promises....

Our generation lacks leaders, our generation lacks knowledge. We are uninterested in the things that don't advance us in the goals that we have put forth in 2009... $$$ or our own laziness and self interests. So involved are we in the idiot box, and the importance of whether I got my car washed, washed my $150 jeans, have the matching hat to the Jordans I just bought etc...etc... that we have stunted and even regressed our intellectual growth as a society. Few people can truly sit around and discuss the smokescreen that is the media and how people are wearing masks because of the fear over (the handful of deaths) attributed to swine flu, but people are still not wearing condoms for fear of AIDS.

We as a generation need to realize that the reality we live in is not necessarily the reality of the next person. The concept of reality is socially constructed and as such the reality one lives in is ultimately subject to the history and life experiences of the indivudal and the way those things influence his analysis of current affairs. Secondly, this self created reality is also largely molded by the powers that be, media mostly. We think there's a major crisis over swine flu.... like 20 people have it and it's not much worse then the regular flu... look it up, people die from the flu on the regular.... This reality that is created for us makes us slaves to the "directors" of this reality. SOOO if they want niggas to be afraid of a flu... then it will happen, and like a bunch of fools we will get 30 additional vaccinations, wear the surgical mask and gloves and sit 3 seats away from the coughing kid in class. This happens on a daily basis with a lot of things... which I willl NOT get into... lol...

The Ancients looked to the sky and created calanders and the concept of time and space. They came up with theories that have yet to be disproven to this day. Scholars worked hard, not for money, but for the attainment of knowledge... Just to know, so that they themselves were not slaves to what others told them. Here we are in 2009 reading the National Enquirer wondering if Batboy really does exist.

Ultimately, your life is what you make of it. Everyone strives to make a buck, but no one is trying to leave behind a legacy anymore. No one cares about intellectualism and expanding the mind, because if you do you're either crazy or broke... mostly both. So you go to work and have a nice car, and nice house, you die, nothing happens, no one (other then friends or family... sometimes NOT EVEN) ultimately cares and in a few years they too will forget you and your life meant nothing. Like an ant that was crushed but a man's foot you were insignificant to the greater good of the world.

My advice? Read a book, read several. Read conflicting articles. Construct a new reality, a more informed one, and don't be afraid to construct one that is not necessarily in your best interest (one that may sacre the hell out of you). There is a possiblity you have no control over your own life... Get control by informing yourself, question everything, leave no stone unturned. The Ancients built pyramids, someone created the concept of time, these people were no older then 20-30 year olds. Stop worrying about your Twitter/Facebook/Myspac/Blog/(insert random needless technology here) and build a fucking pyramid...

Any thoughts?
